Okehampton School
2,500 m² educational SEMH building assessed for embodied carbon with a 16% lifecycle CO₂ reduction achieved.
Okehampton School is a 2,500 m² educational SEMH building, located on the Okehampton East Business Park and procured using the SCF Framework. The Promise School caters for up to 100 primary and secondary pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.
NPS were seeking support in providing a building with low embodied carbon principles. We carried out WLC reporting for embodied carbon reductions and eventual Net Zero at construction declaration following the UKGBC framework.
Through the incorporation of slate roof tiles, glasswool insulation and fly-ash in the concrete mix, we achieved an estimated 16% reduction in CO₂ over the life cycle.
